Sunny is a post-grad college student who grew up in New York but was born in California. One day while getting ready to surf, they accidentally picked up a bottle of radioactive sunscreen, giving them sunlight manipulation!
In everyday life, Sunny is an easy-going person with an even-temperament and a friendly, outgoing energy. They grew up with a military dad and moved to New York as a kid, spending most of their life growing up along the East Coast. After graduating, Sunny moved back to California on their own, leaving their dad and friends behind to find their passion in life. While becoming a superhero was never in their life plans, Sunny, with the help of new friends, took on the role as a new out-and-proud LGBT superhero!

It was a cloudy day, on the north side of the island. The local undercover superhero, Sunny, was going through a long day with their old high school friends, Paul and Bob. The group all piled into Paul’s car and headed to the Surfin’ Pawn Shop. While window shopping, a shout rang out: “NOBODY MOVE!” Masked robbers came in, all wielding weapons, and one was holding a large bag. One of them grabbed Bob and held him hostage, demanding the cash register’s contents, and the most expensive things in the store. Sunny knew they had to act fast in order to save one of their childhood friends.
With the pit in their stomach growing larger by the second, they approached the cash register to meet the stated demands. Then, Sunny closed their eyes, and everything went dark. The room went silent. People began to scramble. Sunny took a deep breath and began to summon all the light energy they could muster. As the small dull ball began to grow, Sunny pushed the growing mass of energy towards the robbers, totally blinding them. Working quickly, Sunny bound their hands and feet with duct tape that was laying around one of the counters. They knew they didn’t have long before the police arrived and their cover was blown. They could feel the palpable fear of their friends and the other customers in the cafe. Sunny knew they didn’t have enough energy absorbed to sustain their cover much longer. They could feel their strength and the light fading quickly. As police sirens screamed in the distance, the light dimmed enough to make eye contact with their friends. It just hit them that their cover has now been blown. Without much time to think, Sunny fled into the bathroom with their now rescued friends, and climbed out of a window before any police or news crew could ask anything. They’re going to have to do the one thing they’ve been avoiding all day: having a serious talk with their old friends.
